Skills Taught in the iSEAK Program

The focus of the training program is to ensure that learners develop the right Skills,Experience, Attitude, and Knowledge necessary to succeed in the global job market.

ATTITUDE AND MINDSET

Imbibes in learners the right attitude and mindset needed to excel in the careers. Focus is placed on developing the growth mindset while replacing negative attitudes with positive and winning attitudes. Learners are also taught the right work ethic.

WORLD OF WORK

Introduces learners to the world of work. Learners discover the differences between a job and a career and learn how their chosen careers will impact their lifestyle. Expectations of employers and other stakeholders at work are also highlighted. Learners learn about themselves in order to choose the right career.

GRAPHIC LITERACY

Learners learn the design and use of workplace graphics such as charts, tables, graphs, forms, flowcharts, plans, maps, and other graphics in the execution of the jobs.

APPLIED MATH

Learners are taught problem-solving and mathematical reasoning in the decision-making process while at work. The focus will be on mathematical skills such as calculating percentages, discounts, markups, and other key skills.

WORKPLACE DOCUMENTS

Learners will be taught to read, understand, and prepare workplace documents such as memos, letters, bulletins, policies, newsletters, regulations, and other documentation.

Eligibility

There are two components of the S2W iSEAK program: Graduate Work-Study (GWS) and Student Work-Study (SWS).

Graduate Work-Study

Graduates who have had no previous work experience at all are unlikely to be successful during the selection process and have little or no chance of receiving a job offer from hiring organizations. The primary purpose of the Graduate Work-Study (GWS) program is to prepare recent graduates for insertion into the job market. Entry requirement is a Diploma from University, TVET, and High School.

Student Work-Study (SWS)

The graduate Work-Study Program prepares students for their first employment right from their first year in the university. Through this program, they can accumulate years of experience and increase their chances of getting their dream entry job right upon graduation.
